Character concept: Pyre

More concept art for my current project. I know everyone is waiting for Two Heroes, but...sadly this is a full time commitment and something that I simply cannot pass up on developing.

Anyway, this is the 'second' main character after Ginnigan. Pyre is a fun loving, competitive and hot-blooded rogue who joined the rebel faction simply because he wanted to be a hero. He doesn't care about their overall ideals and goals, but the notion that he's fighting corruption is enough to satisfy him. Pyre is feared amongst the rebel troops for his recklessness, power and love for destruction. Pyre's heat-powered core lets him generate flames from his body and gives him direct control of his own temperature. Combining an entertainer's fire dancing tricks with martial arts, he is dangerous as an enemy or an ally since it can be guaranteed that just about anything he stands near will go up in flames when he gets in his groove.

Behind all his mannerisms, Pyre's one true wish is simply to stand out and be noticed. Upon meeting Ginnigan for the first time, Pyre became fascinated with the boy with no ID and decided to be his rival from that day forth, whether Ginnigan agreed to it or not.

Despite constantly being evaded by Ginnigan, Pyre continues to believe that he has some kind of deep warrior's connection (Ginnigan doesn't consider himself a fighter) and insists that his soul can only find comfort when he's locked in combat with one who is both a friend and a foe. Ginnigan has no choice but to humor him with sparring, often at inconveniant times. Pyre is also obsessively protective of Ginnigan when he's not trying to beat him up, and even resents the presence of Ginnigan's other friends, saying they have no place in his life if they aren't willing to fight.

Pyre has various flamethrowers and fuel dousers hidden about his body, but his recklessness often causes him to overheat and burst into flames. He can also manipulate plasma energy to create fireworks, which was a trick he learned from his entertainer's days.

Despite his love for violence, Pyre is proud of the fact that he's never killed an opponent before (though it seems like he has no problem with seriously crippling people) and doesn't seem to understand the true concept of war. This makes him very unpopular with his comrades, but nobody is willing to argue with him for obvious reasons.
