Clouds, it seems, make surprisingly good anthros. =p

I don't know what inspired this. Probably a mixture of Mario Galaxy and Sky Girls, but it could also have something to do with the fact that I just enjoy cloudwatching in general, and enjoy looking at shapes that form in clouds.

Since clouds are capable of taking so many different forms, it got me thinking about what it would be like if a cloud were a sentient being, and this is apparently the result.

This little cirrus cloud's body is made up entirely of water, which is like their flesh and blood. If a cloud is injured or made to "rain", the water will disperse, often causing the cloud to lose its limbs depending on how severe the damage is. Of course, it's possible for them to regain function later if they absorb more vapor, but that takes time.
The sword that he wields is a relic from the Cirrus clan that's imbued with the power of wind. In this picture, he's testing it out in clear skies, probably so he can do battle with menacing storm clouds or cyclones later on.

Lol, you're probably worried I'll make another series out of this, right?

*edit* There are quite a few messy and ugly lines/edges in this picture that I'm not at all happy with. Expect me to replace it with a cleaned-up version later on. The shading could be cleaner as well, I think.

Here's 'Cirrus' by *Ryanide... Amazing, isn't it? The idea seemed interesting at first because, as you know, it's not usual to have non-animal anthros featured, but now it just boggles my mind and I can't help but giggling, when I think of it and wonder "clouds as anthros" why didn't I think of it for the "Unusual Anthro" contest.... So here you have, an outstanding idea greating executed... (Suggested by =TaurusJ and Featured by `skifi)

This is the first true anthro form of clouds that I have seen in DA - the other anthro-cloud would have been in :icontobyf:'s Flash game in his DA page and his homepage...

i dunno but i dun think the lineart should be grey at the sword's handle...looks kind of weird

Hehe, well it is made of water, so there are only a few white lines to let you know the shape of it. XD I've never drawn anything like this before, so I didn't know the best way to go about it.
