...I figured it was time for me to improve again, so here's the result.
Wes turned out to be pretty popular after his appearance in the Dendyn Dynasties animation. However, I'd hardly drawn any pictures of him at all (as is the case with most of my Dendyn Dynastes characters.) The thing is, Wes is not a hero or a villain, but is still a VERY important character in the story, and his backstory and motivations are fairly strange.
So here's some background on him:
Wes and his sister Rhianna were subjects of an experiment by the weasel alchemist Fitch, who spent many years developing a spell that would change the appearance of anyone it affected. Fitch tried the spell on Rhianna first, attempting to make her "perfect". The spell wasn't *entirely* successful. Rhianna's figure and continence turned out perfect, but her fur turned blue, and small energy wings appeared on her back. Fitch was so excited with this result that he attempted the exact same spell on Wes...unfortunately forgetting that the spell was gender specific.
Therefore, Wes turned out much the same way as his sister, blue with wings, and all the qualities that make up a PRETTY YOUNG GIRL! Of course, Wes's natural gender clashed with the spell, resulting in an effeminate yet boyish appearance, with the strange side-effect of having swirls for eyes.
Fitch was so embarrased by this stuff-up that he piled all his attention on Rhianna, teaching her magic and alchemy, while ignoring Wes's strengths and talents. Wes began to feel empty and grew tired of trying to earn Fitch's approval. He left home to find an existance.
Wes's strength was a result of the spell, and allowed him to weild large weapons fairly easilly, however, he'd never had any kind of martial arts training, and within his first few hours of wandering outside, he ran into Vash, challenged him, and got completely thrashed.
After recovering from the beating, Wes vowed that he would someday beat Vash in a fight. He trained hard and honed his berserker style, becoming a formiddable fighter before tracking down Vash and challanging him to another duel...which he lost.
You see, Vash's stats are perfectly in opposition to Wes. Vash's speed and evasion is so high, and Wes's skill and defense are so low that Vash can effectively whup Wes pretty much every time. Not one to be disheartened by such trivial matters, Wes obsessively began to stalk Vash, jumping him at every oppertunity and getting beaten every time.
In a way, Wes began to see Vash as a friend as much as a nemisis, therefore his manner while fighting Vash is almost joyous at having found him again. When Serri appears on the scene, Vash tries to reveal his feelings for her, but is interrupted by Wes, and the final straw is drawn when Wes causes Niran to escape from Vash's grasp. Vash develops a burning hatred for Wes, who is blissfully unaware of all the chaos he's caused. And so on and so forth until Wes saves Vash's life at some point, and their weird relationship is reconstructed.
Anyway, look! Best picture I've ever drawn! It's not quite at the same level as 's work, but it's getting close!
