My current team project has changed directions dramatically as of recently, and the new descision means that I'm now working with HD sprites instead of the usual pixely kind.
Because it's HD, rather than go for your usual GG/Blazblue look (which is quite economical for a HD sprite compared to something like...ohhh...KOF12 sprites) where the outlines are simple and the shading is too, I opted for a more cartoony style with thicker outlines and simple shading. It might look unusual now, but I promise it will be pretty nice in motion. This kind of style also lets me churn out frames faster than if I were working with the usual thin anime-style lines. (and there will need to be a lot of sprites)
Anyway, I did say I'd reveal a bit more about the character.
Ginnigan belongs to a race of beings known as anidroids. They are living machines created from evolved energy, and millions of tiny bionanomachines that make up their bodies. At the core of each anidroid, a mass of life energy beats like a heart. They come in many shapes and species types, each with their own distinct background and culture, working together to coexist peacefully in a futuristic, technology-driven world.
Sweet-natured and trendy Ginnigan seems to have a knack for understanding how others think and feel. However, the strange thing about him is that nobody has ever been able to truly identify him.
Anidroids communicate with oneanother through an ID tag system. IDs are imprinted into an anidroid's genetic code from birth. Two anidroids can sense oneanother's ID just by being near. Ginnigan has no ID. His presence is confusing, leaving others with the feeling of talking to someone who isn't there.
Ginnigan always avoids any questions about his past, family or origins. He makes the excuse that he prefers to look to the future. Very fitting for someone with a Kinetic-type core, empowered by movement and accelleration.
Either way, he seems to show a lot of interest in a group of rebels who are always causing trouble and challenging the established order set by the government and the Holy Peace Corps, a miltary group who's duty it is to ruthlessly crush any disturbance to the peace. Most would speculate that Ginnigan is some kind of detective, though nobody knows just who it is he's working for.
Concept art/sprite animations coming soon. Keep an eye out for too, since this is a team project. I might not be the only one submitting the art and concepts.
Dude...awesome sprite is awesome. I wish I could do pixel art, but I would most likely suck at it. lol By the sounds of the story in the description, this is going to be one interesting project. Can't wait to see more!

I'm looking forward to the animated product(s). The story seems very original, but I've seen many plots like it before. The use of animal-esque characters has never been mentioned in any of those said plots, though! ^_^
Nice really great sprite, how big is the game or movie you're making to include them going to be? I take it you are going to shrink the sprite or is this already shrunk to make it look more HD?
